Files you upload are transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, processed in server memory or temporary storage, and automatically deleted after a limited retention window (configurable, one hour by default) or immediately after download when supported by the deployment configuration. We do not read, share, sell, or use uploaded file contents for any purpose other than performing the operation you requested.
We collect standard server logs (IP address, request timestamp, and route) for security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. If Google Analytics is enabled on this deployment, aggregated, anonymized usage statistics may be collected as described in Google's privacy policy.
We set a single, non-tracking cookie used for CSRF protection on file-processing requests. If Google Analytics or Google AdSense are configured, those services may set their own cookies as described in their respective privacy policies. If you use the resume builder, the resume content you enter (personal details, work history, education, skills, and any other information you add to a resume) is stored in our database tied to your account, and is only ever readable by you unless you explicitly publish a resume to a public link.
When you use AI-assisted features (summary generation, bullet point optimization, skills suggestions, ATS review, job matching, or cover letter drafting), the relevant resume text and any job description you paste in is sent to the configured third-party AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, or Google, depending on deployment configuration) solely to generate that response. We log AI request metadata (feature used, token counts, success/ failure) for cost control and abuse prevention, but this deployment does not use your resume content to train any model.
If you upload an existing resume file (PDF or DOCX) to import it, the file is parsed to extract text and is not retained as a file after the import review step -- only the structured data you explicitly confirm is saved.
Publishing a resume to a public link (/r/your-slug) makes that resume's content viewable, and optionally downloadable, by anyone with the link, until you unpublish it. Resumes are private by default and are never indexed or made public without you explicitly choosing to publish.
You can delete any resume, or your entire account and its associated resume data, at any time from your dashboard. Because uploaded PDF/PPT/etc. files processed by the PDF tools are not retained beyond the automatic deletion window, there is typically nothing to request deletion of after that window has passed.
